Beneath The Bark is an audio journey through the urban life of trees - breathing, drinking and living. They perceive one another, recognise neighbours and remembers the past.
Experimenting with contact microphones, nails and a recorder, we figured out a method to record the sound of trees from the inside. These different sound clips can be listened to in Echoes, and be experienced along Akerselva in Oslo, Norway.
Beneath The Bark was nominated in the prize for best interaction design, and the prize for material exploration and aesthetic experience at AHO WORKS fall 2022.
